Hello!

This is my blog for Unit 3 of MAGCD at Central Saint Martins.

Brief

Unit 3 synthesises and builds upon your experiences in Units
1 and 2. It explores how interrogation of the details and processes of production can extend the proposition of graphic communication design as research. At this point in the course, each student takes individual responsibility for driving their coursework forward, with the aim of producing a body of work that itself communicates and enacts its intentions.

Unit 3 consists of two thematic briefs which run concurrently throughout the unit and in close dialogue with one another. Specific objectives for Realise will be negotiated on an indi- vidual basis through a structured process in collaboration with academic staff, mainly through individual and small group tutorials that set the agenda for intensive independent study. Project (pruh-JEKT) will be delivered through a series of work- shops facilitated by staff as well as students.

Realise
This brief provides a framework within which to focus on the details of production across the multiple visual, textual, and/or other media-based outcomes that follow from your Unit 2 coursework. Development, editing and refinement are crucial sites of meaning for graphic design practice. The experience of committing and attending specifically to these aspects of your practice will inevitably give rise to new insights and questions, which in turn should generate new directions and lines of ques- tioning for your work.

Project (pruh-JEKT)
This brief challenges you to engage critically with modes of distribution, circulation, and amplification that can project your work forward, engaging more intentionally with audiences and charting a trajectory for your practice that extends beyond the course.

Unit 3 is divided into two thematic briefs which run concurrently throughout the unit and in close dialogue with one another.

The first half of Unit 3, consists of two projects that extends my practice (Unit 2). You can explore each one of them through the menu on the left.
